Our client is a multinational lighting manufacturer and distributor.
 
Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Project Management and Engineering Team in Germany to support the development of new products by sourcing semi-finished products and electronic components with the right quality and price.
• Liaison with existing and new suppliers in Mainland China and other Asian countries on a daily basis.
• Identify suitable suppliers for the company.
• Work on cost optimization and negotiate prices with suppliers.
• Manage new and existing suppliers including company introduction, payment terms negotiation, and negotiation of other terms and conditions.
• Monitor supplier performance and make improvement recommendations.
• Monitor the product development from the quotations, sampling, approval through to the mass production until the goods leave the factory.
• Execute Cost-Down-Projects for existing products on BOM-Level.
• Regular price benchmarking for the key-components used in the company’s products.
• Organize and work on buying trips with the Project Management Team from Germany.

Requirements:

• Diploma or above in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or other relevant discipline
• Over 5 years’ experience in a sourcing or manufacturing environment
• Experience within the Electronics industry / Lighting industry preferred.
• Proactive, self-starter with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willing to travel frequently.
• Good command of both written and spoken English, Chinese and Mandarin.
• Less experienced candidates will be considered as Sourcing Specialist.
